Brides dream of perfect weather on their wedding day and Jill’s dreams came true this past Saturday as it was an absolutely perfect day for a spring wedding. The temperatures were mild, the skies were clear, and the flowers were in bloom. The grounds were freshly manicured and areas perfectly decorated to celebrate the wedding of Van and Jill. Rush Videos was honored to cover the wedding ceremony and reception of this beautiful couple at The Sonnet House wedding and event venue in Leeds, Alabama.
The wedding ceremony began at 6:30pm with the presentation of the cross and lighting of the candles including a remembrance candle. After the grandparents and mothers were seated, soloist Brittany Walker sang “This is the Day”. The processional followed as “Canon in D” was performed by Cahaba River Strings. The minister, Rev. Michael Precht along with Van and his father, who served as the Best Man, made their way down the stone walkway to await the rest of the wedding party. The groomsmen, bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids, ring bearers, and flower girls all took their places on the raised stone patio. The stone fireplace, greenery, and luscious forest backdrop created an unforgettable scene as Jill and her father gracefully walked down the aisle to the sound of “Bridal Chorus”.
The guests were seated as Rev. Precht delivered a few minutes of heartfelt words of wisdom about marriage. Lauren Brooks read scripture from 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 which provides the perfect biblical definition of love. Van and Jill exchanged their vows and rings to one another and were presented as husband and wife. Cahaba River Strings performed “Wedding March” as the wedding party made their departure.
The Reception – Sonnet House Wedding
The wedding reception officially kicked off a short time later as Jill and Van were introduced by the showband 2nd Groove and held their first dance. Jill and her father danced next, followed by Van and his mother. Guests were treated to an assortment of delicious food, desserts, and drinks. The band played a variety of classic and modern hits that kept the party rocking all the way up to the end. After the garter and bouquet toss, a few more songs were played and then all guests were lined up outside of the front entrance of The Sonnet House, leading up to a stunning white classic car with the nostalgic white-wall tires. The newlywed couple made their way through the line of guests who were tossing white jasmine petals into the air. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful wedding at The Sonnet House.
Congratulations Jill and Van! Thank you for allowing Rush Videos to be a part of your Sonnet House wedding. May God bless you both and lead your path as you start this new chapter in life together.
