For the final wedding of May, Rush Videos was honored to film The Barn at Shady Lane wedding of Natasha and Seth. But just like the story of their relationship, that is not where the story started. Natasha began sending us pictures weeks out from the wedding to create a photo montage video to be played at their rehearsal dinner. It was to be a special surprise for her to share with Seth and her bridesmaids.
Following the rehearsal, the bridal party and family members gathered at Vecchia Pizzeria & Mercato at the Preserve in Hoover, Alabama. “Vecchia” translates to “old” in Italian and this symbolizes their approach to pizza making. They use old-world techniques and recipes to create authentic Italian pizza the way it was intended. Several friends and family members toasted the couple with stories and words of wisdom. To end the night, the photo montage video was played that consisted of Natasha and her bridesmaids, childhood pictures of the couple, and photos of their life together.
The next day, Rush Video arrived at The Barn at Shady Lane early to get a look at this relatively new wedding and event venue in Birmingham, Alabama. Located between Lakeshore and Ross Bridge Parkway’s on Sunbelt Parkway, the venue consists of a 232 seat, air conditioned rustic barn and an outdoor wedding site that features a hand-crafted stone stage. The property consists of lush green fields that are full of many varieties of trees that perfectly explain the name “Shady Lane” as they provide ample cover from the sun.
The ceremony began at six o’clock in the evening just as the sun was beginning to set behind the western treeline. One of the most touching moments of the day is when the two grandmothers of the bride and groom walked side-by-side down the aisle with their flower baskets as both served as flower girls. The pastor led Seth and Natasha through their exchanging of vows and rings before pronouncing them as husband and wife.

The Reception – Barn At Shady Lane Wedding
The reception followed in the barn as the couple held their first dances after the bridal party was introduced. Dinner was provided by Bryon Rickard Catering and consisted of a variety of delicious offerings but none was as satisfying on this warm summer day as the cold fresh fruit and home-made fruit dip that is one of Bryon’s specialties. The couple cut their wedding cake and in place of a groom’s cake, a strawberry dessert slider was a hit with the guests. It tasted like a strawberry shortcake in a cup.
The entertainment was provided by “Blackberry Breeze” who played a variety of 90’s alternative and classic rock hits that kept the party moving. As the night came to a close, Natasha tossed her bouquet and Seth the garter to all of the single ladies and gentlemen in attendance. The guests lined up outside the barn holding sparklers high which brightened the dark sky as Seth and Natasha quickly made their as everyone cheered on.
Congratulations Seth and Natasha! We wish you nothing but the best in your new life together. Thank you for choosing Rush Videos as your The Barn at Shady Lane wedding videographer!
