Sydney and Andrew’s wedding was held at the Palmerdale Homestead Community Center in Pinson, AL on November 20, 2016. Originally the building was the Palmerdale School from the early 1900’s, but has since been transformed into a local community center. With everything from local events to weddings, this was a great place with plenty of room for their wedding day.
As Sydney and her bridesmaids arrived, they moved into their room for hair and makeup. Soon you heard laughter, music and we even saw a few of the girls dancing. Everyone was talking about the wedding day and how excited they were. As the girls got ready, a brief moment was taken by the wedding party and mothers to pray for Sydney. With this wedding being much centered around their Christian faith, it only seemed fitting.
Down the hall, Andrew and his groomsmen were getting ready as well. As the guys got suited up, we got a chance to talk with Andrew for a moment. He expressed his excitement for the wedding and even seemed very calm. All the guys were called in, including the dads, to have a moment of prayer. Andrew knew to start his wedding day off, it needed to have God’s guidance and blessing.
After both Andrew and Sydney were ready, they decided to meet prior to the wedding and exchange personal letters. Andrew stepped outside of the building’s entrance, with his back turned so not to see his wife to be in her dress. Sydney soon joined him and they exchanged the letters, being careful not to see one another. As they read each others letter, you could tell they were emotional. The time had come and there was little of time left prior to the wedding. The both bowed their heads and Andrew led them in a brief prayer, asking God to give them a great life together as husband and wife.
As guests begin to arrive and seats were filling up, soon the wedding party lined up. As the pastor and Andrew took their place at the alter, the bridesmaids and groomsmen soon joined them. Sydney, escorted in by her father, made their way toward the alter area as Andrew anxiously waited. You could tell Andrew was excited to see Sydney as their moment had finally arrived. Wedding vows were repeated, promises and prayers were given. The moment everyone had waited for had come, as Andrew kissed his bride. Everyone clapped and cheered and the wedding party made their way back up the aisle toward the reception.
The reception hall was the gym inside the old school building, but it was decorated so well you’d hardly know. Sydney and Andrew took time to greet guests, before starting their first dances, as husband and wife. Sydney then shared a dance with her father, followed by Andrew sharing a dance with his mother. Soon the Dj turned up the music and the floor quickly filled. We even caught both sets of parents getting into the action, to make the day even more special. The time had come for the garter and bouquet toss, which usually points toward the end of a reception.
Once the reception was over, Andrew and Sydney made their way through a tunnel of sparklers of family and friends. As they drove off, everyone cheered and wished them well. We’d also like to wish Andrew and Sydney the very best and thank you for choosing Rush Videos to capture the Palmerdale Homestead Community wedding day.
