Mountain Brook Wedding | Caroline + Charles
After several weeks of outdoor weddings in the Alabama heat and humidity, this past Saturday was a nice change of pace for the Rush Videos crew. We were honored to be chosen by Caroline and Charles to film their Mountain Brook wedding. The ceremony and reception were held at Brookwood Baptist Church. We arrived as Caroline and the bridesmaids were getting ready at the church. One of our newest crew members, Alli, spent the day following the bride around to capture all of the important moments of the day.
This week we had the pleasure of working alongside photographers Rebecca Long and her husband Brett. Anytime we work with a new photographer it’s an unpredictable experience. Most of the time, they see the videographer as another professional there to do a job and work together but occasionally it can be an issue. However, Rebecca and Brett were not only professional but very personable and fun to work with. The ease of working with them along with the other vendors including the church coordinator, Mary Jane, and church sound technician, Tuck, made this one of the smoothest wedding days we have ever experienced. Of course all of that did not happen by accident as Caroline did a lot of planning (albeit while going through med school) to coordinate the perfect wedding day.

Upon the seating of the grandparents and mothers of the bride and groom, Charles, along with the officiant, Reverend Thomas Heath, entered the sanctuary. The wedding processional began with the playing of “In Christ Alone” as the bridesmaids and groomsmen lined up on each side of the stage. Guests rose to their feet to see their first peek of Caroline walking down the aisle with her father to “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty.” The sister of the groom read scripture as Caroline and Charles walked up to the center stage hand-in-hand. After the exchanging of vows and giving of rings, they held a private prayer and communion while “Before the Throne of God Above” was played. Finally, Reverend Heath presented the bride and groom to the packed sanctuary of family and friends and invited everyone to join in the reception festivities downstairs.
The reception was held in the fellowship hall of Brookwood Baptist Church. The wedding cake was located in the center of the room. Behind the wedding cake was an elevated stage with the bride and groom table that also held the groom’s cake. The food was catered by Jim ‘N Nick’s BBQ and consisted of pulled pork sliders, potato salad, fresh fruit, chips and queso, and of course their famous cheese biscuits. One would not think of Jim ‘N Nick’s as a typical wedding catering business, but the food was superb and the servers were friendly and eager to please.
As we walked away from this Mountain Brook wedding of Caroline and Charles, the feeling was unanimous that the following scripture from the wedding was fitting in so many ways as the day started and ended in perfect unity:
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. – Colossians 3:12-14
Congratulations, Caroline and Charles! Thank you for allowing Rush Videos to be a part of your wedding day!
