This past Saturday, the Rush Videos team was honored to capture the Clubhouse On Highland wedding of Kaitlin and Alex. End of the year weddings are always fun, people are thinking of the holidays and the mood is always joyful. Clubhouse on Highland is located in Birmingham, AL and built in 1910. It has served as a home to the Alabama Federation of Women Club’s 3rd District for over sixty years. Now that you know the home’s history, let’s talk about the wedding day of Kaitlin and Alex.
As our team arrived, we began capturing the details of the day. Kaitlin was enjoying a few moments with her bridesmaid before stepping into her wedding dress. Alex was with his groomsman, enjoying the day and excited to see Kaitlin. As everyone got ready, we followed Kaitlin and Alex to capture them seeing each other for the first time prior to the wedding. They took a moment to joke and talk, but neither seemed nervous. After several photographs, the bride and groom headed upstairs as the guests arrived.
The Clubhouse On Highland Wedding
Music began and guests were seated. Mothers were escorted in, then Alex and the pastor made their way to the front. With the bridesmaid and groomsmen in place, the time had come. The moment we’d all been waiting for finally arrived, everyone stood to their feet. Kaitlin and her father proudly made their way down the aisle to meet Alex. As Kaitlin’s father gave his blessing, the pastor began the ceremony. With a few scripture readings followed by prayer, and some advice on marriage, the pastor began the wedding vows. After the,”I Do’s” and a kiss to seal the wedding, the pastor pronounced Alex and Kaitlin husband and wife. All in attendance cheered as the wedding party made their way back up the aisle.
After a short cocktail hour, everyone gathered around to capture a glimpse of the first dance of Kaitlin and Alex. As husband and wife, they shared a first dance to, “Stars Fell on Alabama”. Kaitlin’s dad cut in to dance with his daughter, as Alex also shared a dance with his mother. The band continued to play while Kaitlin and Alex cut their wedding cake. As family and guests enjoyed dessert, everyone mingled. Cigars were lit on the outside porch, wine was enjoyed, and everyone was talking about the wedding and how proud they were of Kaitlin and Alex.
The band played one last song, then everyone headed outside. Sparklers were lit, family and friends cheered while Kaitlin and Alex came out to see everyone as they were leaving. The guests and family said their goodbyes, and the newly married couple stepped into a 1951 Rolls-Royce and disappeared into the night. What a way to end a beautiful evening at the Clubhouse on Highland wedding of Kaitlin and Alex !
Congratulations Kaitlin and Alex! Thank you for choosing Rush Videos as your Birmingham, AL wedding videographer and we wish you all the happiness the world has to offer in your new life together.
